Meanwhile, a group of young travelers are brought together on the promise of work: Sirrath is on the run from violent street gangs, Erin is an acolyte who struggles with her faith, and Dalathos is looking to be apprenticed as a blacksmith. Together they hope to find their dreams and fortune in the city of Corianth. Instead, they find themselves snared in a deadly conspiracy.
The forces against them are too strong – Sirrath must lead the others safely from the city. But to do that he has to face the very street gangs he’s spent a lifetime running from. The decisions he makes won’t just decide his survival — but also the fate of an empire, and the future of humanity.
